The first race, we had an awesome start. We were a boat length ahead of everyone else at go. We saw the individual recall flag go up and we figured it had to be us and started to go back to the line, but before we got back to the line the flag was already down. So we began racing again, now much further behind. We sailed a good race from that point on. The course was such that you had to go right on the beat and then jybe around the windward mark and reach back to the right side of the course. On the first downwind we were in about 15th place and decided to not to reach. Unfortunately, the other boats got in more breeze and sailed around us. We finished the race 23rd. The second race, we had an awesome start and were able to tack right away and go to the cliff on the right side. We decided to tack at a great place and were battling it out for first place at the top of the beat. We rounded the mark in 3rd place where we stayed until the last beat where we lost one boat. We finished the race in 4th place!!!! This is our best finish ever at an international event!!!! The last race, we started in a pack and were not able to break free from the pack. We got bounced around a little and were not able to get right quickly enough. The wind had died some, changing the strategy for laylines. We did not pick up on this enough and lost more boats. We finished the race in around 25th place. When we got to land we learned that we actually were started the race early and were disqualified from the race. We are currently in 15th place overall.
