Team Molly has had many recent successes. Molly Carapiet just returned from Busan, South Korea, where she competed at the Busan Cup Women’s World Match Race. This was the first International Grade 1 Women’s Match Race in Asia. Sailing with Liz Baylis and the San Francisco Women’s Match Race Team, they placed 5th overall. Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer has also just competed in a International Grade 1 Women’s Match Race, the Rolex Osprey Cup in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sailing with Olympian Debbie Capozzi, Molly’s team placed 2nd. They defeated the current World Champion and many top-ranked teams from around the World. Molly is off to Charleston, South Carolina this weekend to compete at the Nation’s Cup Regional Qualifier with Olympic Gold Medalist, Anna Tunnicliffe.
The other exciting news is we just received our brand new boat!!! It came on a container ship all the way from New Zealand. We are very eager to sail the boat in December, when we begin training again. Thank you to everyone who donated money to help us buy our boat. We still need more help to defray the costs of the boat and training. Our US Sailing Team Qualifiers are in January and our goal is to be ranked #1.
