Team Molly had an even better day today. We were postponed on shore for an hour due to a lack of wind. But then we headed out to the race course for a 2pm start. The winds were light for all of the races, but built to a nice 8-10 knots for the last race. All day we had pretty good speed upwind and great speed downwind.
In the first race we had an okay first beat and passed a bunch of boats on the top reach only to make a mistake on the first run and get passed again. Fortunately, we had a great second downwind and were able to come back to 4th place. The second race was the lightest race and we kept passing boats the entire race to finish the race 3rd. The third race was our best race yet. We had an awesome start and rounded the windward mark in 5th place and the top women’s team. We battled it out with the top guys for the rest of the race. Unfortunately, the Danish girls passed us at the very end of the last beat. We finished the race 2nd.
We are currently in 4th place overall, just one point out of 3rd place. There is a cold front coming tomorrow, so there could be a lot more wind!!!
