Team Molly had a good day today and an up and down day yesterday. Both
days the wind has been quite light and we have been waiting for racing
for some time.
Yesterday, the first race we had a great start and played the first
beat well, rounding the top mark in second place. We battled it out
with four boats the rest of the race, finishing third overall. After a
few hours of waiting, we started a second race. On the last beat the
wind died to 1knot and shifted 70 degrees to the right. It was a very
long race! When we reached shore we learned we were over early at the
start and were disqualified from the race.
Today we had a bad first start but battled our way back. Despite
rounding the first leeward mark in 25th, we came back to 12th place.
It was an unbelievable come back. In the last race we had a good
start and protected the right side of the course. We rounded the first
mark in 3rd and passed one boat to finish the race 2nd.
We are currently tied for 7th place overall. We have three more days
of racing left. The forecast is for a light sea breeze the next two
