Team Molly has had some difficult racing over the past two days. We have had long days, with us not getting off the water until close to 9pm on Thursday night and three windy races yesterday. We were laughing when Molly V. was reapplying sunscreen at 7:15pm before we started our third race of the day. It does not get dark here until after 10pm.
Our first day of racing, we had some tough first beats but after that we sailed really well. We were able to come back in every race with our excellent downwind speed and good decision making on the second beats. We finished the day with a 11, 7, 21.
Yesterday was a lot windier than forecasted and it just kept building. The third race yesterday it was over 20 knots. We did not quite have the top end speed upwind to stay in the front of the fleet. We did the best with what we had. We kept fighting each race and finished with a 20, 17, 14.
